Assalamualaikum Wr Wb
Welcome to the official website of the Textile Engineering Study Program at Bandung Polytechnic of Textile Technology.
Textile Engineering Study Program is one of the majors at Bandung Polytechnic of Textile Technology which organizes lectures covering the process of Spinning, Weaving, Knitting, Textile Evaluation and others that support science about textile technology. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the Textile Engineering Study Program held distance lectures for theoretical subjects, while we will conduct practical courses face-to-face if the pandemic conditions become better. Therefore, let’s pray that we can all go through it safely and always in good health so that we can hold lectures normally like before the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Textile Engineering Study Program is one of three study programs organized by the College of Textile Technology. This study program has existed since the beginning of the Textile Technology College was founded, precisely on August 1, 1954 with the decision of the Minister of the Economy dated July 17, 1954. In 1966 the Textile Engineering Study Program held a (Bachelor’s Degree) education when it was named the Textile Technology Institute. in accordance with the Decree of the Minister of Textile Industry No. 011/M/Kpts/66 dated February 1, 1966 so that graduates receive a Bachelor of Textiles (S.Teks) according to the Decree of the Minister of Industry Textile and Crafts Folk No. 104/M/SK/1966 dated November 4, 1966. This study program in 1975 was evaluated by the Consortium for the Trustees of Science and Technology with adequate results so that graduates who were appointed as civil servants in the initial position were valued the same as a state university diploma. Another impact of the results of this assessment is the opportunity for graduates to continue their studies to a higher level (Master’s Degree) at state universities as well as abroad.
In order to implement Presidential Decree No. 34 of 1972 and Presidential Instruction No. 15 of 1974, in 1981 the Institute of Textile Technology was changed to the College of Textile Technology which held professional (vocational) programs and was confirmed by a Joint Decree of the Minister of Industry and the Minister of Education and Culture No. 274/M/SK/VI/1981 and 0182/O/1981 dated June 6, 1981. With these changes, the curriculum of this study program was then readjusted from an academic program to a professional (vocational) program with a Diploma IV level. The professional designation for graduates of the Diploma IV Program is the Bachelor of Applied Science in accordance with PP No. 60 of 1999. Where the graduates based on Presidential Decree no. 57 of 1984 in the field of employment is valued the same as a Bachelor’s degree.
In 2015 the College of Textile Technology changed to Bandung Polytechnic of Textile Technology on the basis of organizational arrangements and work procedures for the vocational higher education unit within the Ministry of Industry which included the change of the Textile Technology College to become the Bandung Polytechnic of Textile Technology as approved by the Minister of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform through letter Number B/5782/M.PAN-RB/12/2014. This change is in line with permits for the implementation of the Diploma IV Study Program at Bandung Polytechnic of Textile Technology through the Decree of the Minister of Education and Culture No. 497/E/2014. With this change, the curriculum of the study program is readjusted and graduates from the Textile Engineering study program will receive the title of Bachelor of Applied Engineering.
